About G.F. Bowman, Inc.

G.F. Bowman, Inc. started as a small business run out of George and Esther Bowman’s garage in 1967. Their business model was simple: to provide quality work and high priority service. Within the next ten years, the company had expanded to include not only refrigeration services but also heating and air conditioning. During the 1970s, G.F. Bowman, Inc. moved into our first storefront in Cleona.

Thanks to his timeless vision of doing the job right the first time and fulfilling commitments to his customers, George Bowman was able to continue to grow the company until he retired and passed the business on to his son Larry. In 1986, with Larry serving as president, plumbing services were added to the business.

During the 1990s, G.F. Bowman, Inc. remained a leader in the industry by adding services such as indoor air quality testing, geothermal heating and cooling, water testing, zoning controls, and other related services to our cannon. By the time the new millennium rolled around, we were installing tankless water heaters, as well as providing water conditioning, softening, and filtration services to our customers.

Another exciting change during the early 2000s was the opening of our second location here in Harrisburg in 2006, which allowed us to expand our service area. In 2010, Larry Bowman stepped down as president, passing the business on to his two eldest children Jamie Yocum and Brad Bowman. As president and vice president, respectively, Jamie and Brad continue to support the company's mission to provide world-class plumbing, heating, and air conditioning services to every customer.
