Planned Preventive Maintenance

Heating, cooling and plumbing systems have a way of breaking down when the weather is at its worst – on the coldest night of a frigid winter, or during a sizzling summer heat wave. These are times when your comfort system must work the hardest, and when you need it most. A Preventive Maintenance Program operates under the theory that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” It is systematic maintenance that can identify minor problems before they grow into costly emergencies. Your Preventive Maintenance Program is tailored exactly to YOUR plumbing, heating and cooling equipment.

“The Bowman Team” of top professionals looks after your equipment and its performance, and we work with you to schedule your preventive maintenance service when convenient. Preventive Maintenance appointments are scheduled during regular working hours.

Reduced Rates

Along with the benefits to your comfort system, our Preventive Maintenance Agreement gives you the benefit of discounted repair prices, and waives our dispatch fee if any repairs are made.

Preferred Status

Occasionally, problems with equipment may occur even with preventive measures. As a Preventive Maintenance customer, if an unexpected service need should arise, your call receives priority over our non-agreement customers.

Furnace or Boiler

  • Clean and adjust automatic controls
  • Clean burners and/or replace nozzles
  • Adjust combustion for optimum fuel efficiency
  • Lubricate as needed
  • Test for combustion leaks
  • Test safety shut-off response
  • Check blowers and circulators
  • Replace standard air filters and belts as needed
  • Check flue for satisfactory operation
  • Inspect and clean heat exchangers as needed

Air Conditioning or Heat Pump

  • Clean condenser and evaporator coil as necessary
  • Check electrical connections for tightness
  • Adjust system for optimum cooling or heating
  • Perform visual inspection of refrigerant piping
  • Check safety controls
  • Check blower belt wear, tension, and alignment
  • Check metering device operation
  • Replace standard air filters and belts as needed
  • Check refrigerant level
  • Lubricate as needed

Plumbing Inspection

  • Check each toilet for flush condition, check bolts and gaskets and tank dye test.
  • Check plumbing fixtures for proper drainage, leaks and cracks, and waste and overflow operation.
  • Check faucets for drips and leaks, handle operation, clogged aerators, operation of pop-up assembly/strainers, operation of hand-held spray at sink, leaks at supply pipes and valves.
  • Check outside faucet for proper installation and operation.
  • Check water heater for condition of heater, drain pan/floor drain, condition of pressure safety relief valve, temperature of water, expansion tank, condition of flue gas pipe (if applicable).
  • Check washing machine for condition of hoses, washer drain.
  • Visual check of all house and water lines.
  • Valve tagging main cold and hot water line valves.
  • Free water analysis upon request.
